Job summary

Gigaton is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the team building AI that controls the world's most complex industrial plants in real time.

You will mentor engineers, establish scalable processes, and partner with ML, Product, and CTO to translate company priorities into practical engineering plans. We offer equity, flexible working, 30 days holiday and a generous pension, plus a culture that values ownership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with leadership experience.
• Experience leading through team leads or engineering managers.
• Ability to introduce structure for scaling teams without excessive process.
• Hands-on with architecture, debugging, design reviews or pairing.
• Knowledge of modern software practices (TDD, pair programming, CD).

Responsibilities

• Build a high-performing software engineering organisation delivering customer value.
• Coach engineers and team leads to improve engineering practices.
• Embed planning, review and engineering disciplines to reduce risk.
• Partner with Head of ML, Head of Product and CTO to translate priorities into plans.
• Develop the next generation of technical leaders.
