Job summary

Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA in the United Kingdom is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and grow a team of software and electronic design engineers in Blyth.

You will plan resources, manage budgets, and drive the technology roadmap in alignment with company strategy. The role requires a degree in electronics/software/CS (Masters preferred) and proven experience designing embedded systems across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, software engineering, computer science or similar (Masters preferred).
• Experience designing software/hardware for embedded electronic systems.
• Experience leading embedded systems within multi-disciplinary engineering environments.
• Experience planning and budgeting development projects.
• Experience with current software development methodologies (embedded & apps).
• Knowledge of project management for software/electronics development.
• Ability to assess and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to drive innovation and project delivery.

Role Requirements

Education/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar. (Masters preferred.)

Related Experience

• Experience in designing software and hardware for embedded electronic systems.
• Experience in leading technical developments of embedded systems within multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
• Experience of planning and budgeting development projects
• Experience with current software development methodology (embedded & apps).
• Knowledge of project management for software and electronics development
• Must be able to effectively assess and troubleshoot technical problems
• Willingness to take on and learn new technologies
• Experience of leveraging AI tools to drive innovation and project delivery..
