Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA in the United Kingdom is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and grow a team of software and electronic design engineers in Blyth.

You will plan resources, manage budgets, and drive the technology roadmap in alignment with company strategy. The role requires a degree in electronics/software/CS (Masters preferred) and proven experience designing embedded systems across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, software engineering, computer science or similar (Masters preferred).
• Experience designing software/hardware for embedded electronic systems.
• Experience leading embedded systems within multi-disciplinary engineering environments.
• Experience planning and budgeting development projects.
• Experience with current software development methodologies (embedded & apps).
• Knowledge of project management for software/electronics development.
• Ability to assess and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to drive innovation and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software and electronic design engineers.
• Plan and manage resources and budgets, with optimal use of internal and external resources.
• Develop employee and team competencies, tools and processes to support the roadmap delivery and company strategy.
• Provide engineering excellence support for product development projects and Life Cycle activities.
• Cooperate and build relationships with internal and external partners (e.g. other functions, approval agencies, suppliers).
• Define and implement technology strategies.
• Develop a network of external partners to improve performance and capacity.
• Initiate and support monitoring of technical and regulatory trends, derive and implement actions.
