Job summary

Dräger is seeking a senior engineering leader to head software and electronic design teams in the UK. The role focuses on directing multi-disciplinary engineering efforts, allocating resources, and driving the roadmap for innovative life‑saving technologies.

The successful candidate will manage budgets, partner with internal/external teams, and set technology strategies while mentoring engineers and expanding competencies across software and hardware domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, software engineering, computer science or similar (Masters preferred).
• Experience designing software and hardware for embedded electronic systems.
• Experience leading embedded systems developments within multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
• Experience planning and budgeting development projects.
• Knowledge of project management for software and electronics development.
• Able to assess and troubleshoot technical problems; willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software and electronic design engineers.
• Plan and manage resources and budgets, with optimal use of internal and external resources.
• Develop employee and team competencies, tools and processes to support roadmap delivery and company strategy.
• Provide engineering excellence support for product development projects and lifecycle activities.
• Cooperate and build relationships with internal and external partners.
• Define and implement technology strategies.
• Develop a network of external partners to improve performance.
• Monitor and respond to technical and regulatory trends.
