Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead our electronics design and manufacturing operations in the North West of England. You will own the engineering function, guide a team of 6 engineers, and drive technical direction while maintaining hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities include overseeing R&D, PCB layout, FPGA development, and production engineering, with a focus on quality and process improvements across design to manufacture. Salary £50k–£55k plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics design or R&D environment.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage a diverse engineering team.
• Experience collaborating with customers and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with EMC standards and IPC610/AS9100/ISO13485 is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering function, including R&D, electronic design, FPGA development and production engineering.
• Engage with customers at all stages of product development.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing ensuring smooth transition from design to production (DFM).
• Ensure adherence to IPC610, AS9100 and ISO13485 quality standards.
• Lead from the front, remain hands-on, teach and mentor the team.
