Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking an Engineering Manager to take ownership of the engineering function, lead a talented team and influence the technical direction of the business in the North West of England.

You will manage electronic design, PCB layout and production engineering, partnering with the MD to shape capability and drive business performance. The role is hands-on, leading from the front and mentoring a team of six engineers across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• Electronics design or R&D background required or advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder management across sales, quality and production.
• Experience leading and motivating a diverse engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering function including R&D, electronic design, FPGA development and production engineering.
• Engage with customers at all stages of product development.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing to ensure smooth transition from design to production (DFM).
• Ensure adherence to quality standards (IPC610, AS9100 and ISO13485).
• Lead from the front, coach and mentor the team to find solutions.
