Job summary

Collinson Group in London is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the technical delivery of our go-to-market software used by Clients, Consumers and Partners. You will shape engineering standards, nurture a high-performing team and ensure resilient, high-velocity delivery on a cloud-native stack (AWS, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• Led engineering teams as Head of Engineering or equivalent, delivering across multiple squads.
• Delivered business-critical, client-facing software at scale while protecting delivery commitments.
• Excellent people leadership with focus on a thriving team culture.
• Credible depth in cloud-native AWS architecture with TypeScript/Node.js/React/Kubernetes/serverless.
• Comfortable engaging with clients and external stakeholders at leadership level.
• Embedded quality, observability and operational readiness, owning incident response.
• Translates technical reality into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.
• Pragmatic use of AI and automation in the SDLC with measurable impact.
• Leads through standards and coaching while staying close to detail.
• Experienced in making credible decisions under operational pressure.
• Invests in growing engineers with clear career paths.
• Articulates delivery risk and trade-offs honestly.
• Cares about outcomes and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery of go-to-market products including APIs, SDKs and integrations.
• Set and evolve technical direction; keep service boundaries clear.
• Lead Principal and Lead Engineers and oversee engineering squads.
• Embed AI and automation into the SDLC to improve throughput.
• Treat APIs and data contracts as products with versioning and lifecycle management.
• Protect delivery commitments through reliable, low-risk deployments.
