Job summary

Collinson seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the technical delivery of go-to-market products serving Clients, Consumers and Partners. You will define engineering standards, foster a strong culture, and grow a capable engineering team across multiple squads.

You will drive architecture, testing, observability and AI-enabled SDLC improvements, ensuring credible delivery and strong stakeholder visibility across external integrations and digital experiences.

Qualifications

• Led engineering teams as Head of Engineering (or equivalent) with accountability for multiple squads.
• Proven track record delivering business-critical, client-facing software at scale.
• Excellent people leadership with a focus on sustainable teams and ownership.
• Credible depth in modern cloud-native architecture on AWS; hands-on with TS, Node.js, React, Kubernetes, serverless, eventing and data stores.
• Comfortable engaging with clients and external stakeholders at leadership level.
• Experience embedding quality, observability and operational readiness; owning production incident response.
• Ability to translate technical reality into clear narratives for senior stakeholders; strong communication.
• Pragmatic use of AI and automation in the SDLC with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery of go-to-market products, APIs, SDKs, and partner integrations.
• Lead Principal and Lead Engineers; oversee squads within your pillars.
• Embed AI and automation into the SDLC to remove friction and improve throughput.
• Treat APIs, events and data contracts as products with proper lifecycle management.
• Ensure reliable, low-risk deployments to protect delivery commitments.
• Raise the quality bar across architecture, testing, and resilience; partner with QA.
