Job summary

Lanesra Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Head of Commercial in Peterborough with hybrid working to lead the commercial function for a major alliance framework. The role covers estimating, programme management and delivering £600m–£750m over five years.

You will drive commercial strategy, manage a high-value portfolio, and collaborate with procurement and estimating to optimise outcomes across the Business Unit. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior commercial or quantity surveying role.
• Proven experience leading teams.
• A track record delivering high-value programmes (£600-750m) in Construction or Utilities.
• Educated to degree level.
• Experience in change management.
• Experience in commercial contracting management.
• Proven ability to deliver strategic business objectives.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and leadership.
• Strong risk and issue management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Outstanding communicator at all levels and able to provide strategic direction.
• Strong motivational skills and history of self and team development.
• Ability to deliver quality outputs within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategic plans for the Business Unit.
• Lead and manage the commercial function to deliver the Alliance and Unit objectives.
• Support procurement to establish best-in-class commercial models.
• Support estimating to facilitate project lifecycle and cost capture.
• Oversee cost and performance indicator assurance including P&L.
• Build strong relationships to drive collaboration and value.
• Foster a commercially aware culture within the unit.
