Qualifications

Salary (Grade 8) - £50,213 - £51,734 per annum (dependent upon experience)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - permanent/contract

Location: For the right candidate the location of where you are based can be flexible. Weekly travel to Portsmouth Historic Dockyards is required, aswell as occasional travel to our other sites.

The Head of Commercial joins the NMRN at a pivotal moment as we shape the next stage of our commercial strategy, gain a deeper understanding of our audiences and explore opportunities connected to our brand. This role will take a lead role in the development, implementation and delivery of the commercial strategy, strengthening our existing income streams and developing new opportunities with the aim to drive increased overall profit.

The Head of Commercial is a senior manager with the Commercial Operations Directorate and lines manages the Retail Manager. Highly collaborative, the role works closely with the site General and Museum Managers to support the teams with the aim of increasing income through on-site business streams. The role will also explore and strengthen opportunities separate from our physical sites, sweating our assets and strengthening our financial resilience.

What you can bring:

  • Demonstratable experience of driving increased income and profit, ideally within a heritage/visitor attraction setting
  • Results orientated with a focus on achieving targets
  • Experience of working with profit and loss statements, managing budgets and reporting against targets and KPIs
  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to think strategically
  • Highly collaborative person with excellent communication skills
