Hours: 37 (potentially flexible)

Grade/Salary: From £51,721 (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent

Vetting Level: NPPV 3 & SC

Role Overview

Commercial Leads have a portfolio covering multiple categories, including specific categories such as aviation (police air support), uniform, drones, etc. This flexible approach enables equitable workload distribution and agility in delivery.

You will be responsible for delivering maximum value via commercial activities, influencing strategy, and managing stakeholders effectively. The role involves supporting the People and Professional Services Pillar on various workstreams and assisting the wider team with procurement and contract management, fostering diversity and professional development.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide commercial support for BlueLight initiatives and activities.
  2. Assist in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
  3. Lead contract and supplier management, including negotiations and supply chain improvements.
  4. Evaluate tenders and proposals, developing commercial options and gaining stakeholder commitment.
  5. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and manage transitions to new working methods.
  6. Utilize financial tools to inform commercial planning.
  7. Ensure legal, regulatory, and social value considerations are integrated into plans.
  8. Lead sourcing processes to meet stakeholder requirements with optimal terms.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by line management.
Qualifications & Accreditation
  • CIPS Level 4 qualification or 3+ years' experience in a commercial environment.
  • Willingness to pursue GCF accreditation to Commercial Lead level.
Experience & Knowledge
  • Experience in public sector procurement or private sector procurement with a desire to transition into public sector roles.
  • Proven success in managing end-to-end commercial cycles.

  • Ability to develop innovative, commercially astute solutions.
