Newly created position to lead the Claims Oversight team in its pursuit of raising performance of our members and elevating the status of Claims in the Lloyd’s market.

This is a leadership role ensuring that claims management is at the centre of all Lloyd’s businesses and operating in line with the principles of doing business at Lloyd’s. You will need a proven track record in managing external entities; overseeing their end to end process and performance. You could be from a Claims, Delegated Authority, Audit or Operations background.

Key accountabilities of this role:

  • Oversee the Claims Oversight Team to ensure that Managing Agents (‘MAs’) provide a claims service that meets Lloyd’s expectations, supports syndicate performance and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Make considered and risk-based decisions, ensuring that the right outcomes are achieved through effective oversight and collaboration with the wider Lloyd’s team
  • Develop and promote a ‘best in class’ approach to Claims management
  • Oversee and monitor MAs' adherence to the Lloyd’s Claims Principles, identifying and addressing potential claims performance risks, proactively intervening and escalating issues
  • Communicate the results of qualitative assessments, fostering open and constructive dialogue
  • Utilize claims management information and data to elevate overall performance
  • Collaborate and provide quality assurance for claims-related reviews and thematic work
  • Provide internal reporting on a timely basis on behalf of Claims Oversight Team
  • Design, implement and maintain a structured engagement model that promotes an effective working relationships with senior management at MAs, the Corporation, brokers and market representative groups


Reporting to the Claims Director of Lloyd’s, this role forms part of the claims leadership team that have a vital part to play in the strategic and operational delivery of oversight to the market.
