Job summary

Lloyds is the world's leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, seeking a Head of Claims Oversight to strengthen claims performance across the Lloyds market. You will lead a high‑performing team, challenge stakeholders, and drive data‑led improvements across managing agents and market groups.

In this senior role you will influence the claims strategy, engage with senior market leaders, and partner with operations, underwriting and pricing functions to deliver superior market outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant claims experience gained in an operational, technical or oversight environment.
• Strong knowledge of claims management and risk within insurance/financial services.

Responsibilities

• Lead our Claims Oversight team and ensure managing agents deliver claims services meeting Lloyds expectations and supporting strong syndicate performance.
• Identify and respond to emerging claims performance risks, taking proportionate action.
• Use claims data and management information to turn insight into market actions.
• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across managing agents, brokers and market groups.
• Represent Lloyds in day-to-day claims matters and liaise with the LMA on claims.
• Lead claims response for Lloyds Major Event Response activity.
• Collaborate with Claims Operations, Claims Insight, Underwriting, Pricing, Reserving, Customer and Culture teams.
• Influence the development of Lloyds claims and performance management strategy.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Claims Oversight team.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead our Claims Oversight team and help ensure managing agents deliver claims services that meet Lloyds expectations and support strong syndicate performance.

• Lead Principle 4, Claims Management, within our Principles Based Oversight framework.
• Identify and respond to emerging claims performance risks, taking proportionate action when needed.
• Use claims data and management information to turn insight into focused market action.
• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across managing agents, brokers and market representative groups.
• Lead our day-to-day relationship with the LMA on claims matters.
• Lead the claims response for Lloyds Major Event Response activity.
• Work closely with Claims Operations, Claims Insight, Underwriting, Pricing, Reserving, Customer and Culture teams.
• Influence the development of Lloyds claims and performance management strategy.
• Lead, develop and empower a high-performing Claims Oversight team.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone with strong claims expertise, sound judgement and the ability to influence at senior level.

• Significant claims experience gained in an operational, technical or oversight environment.
• Strong knowledge of claims management and risk, alongside experience of the insurance or wider financial services sector.
• An understanding of Lloyds, the London Market and international insurance markets.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex organisations and navigating competing priorities.
• Evidence of influencing and negotiating challenging issues to reach effective outcomes.
• Experience leading and developing teams or subject matter experts.
• The ability to interpret complex information and turn them into clear, concise recommendations.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with evidence of taking ownership through to delivery.
• Experience delivering business change or improvement.
