Job summary

Eton College seeks a Dame to oversee boarding house life, delivering high-level pastoral care and first-line medical support while managing a talented team and the daily operation of the house.

You will work with the House Master to uphold safeguarding standards, supervise housekeeping, health matters, budgets, and recruitment, and ensure pupils feel safe, cared for, and valued in a busy boarding environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of pastoral care for children or young adults.
• Experience in line management and staff development.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
• Proactive and flexible with good problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide high levels of pastoral care to pupils and first-line medical care.
• Lead and develop Dame's Assistants and run house operations.
• Monitor standards of cleanliness and catering within the house.
• Manage house budgets and recruitment/induction of new Dame's Assistants.
• Coordinate health, safeguarding, and liaise with the Health Centre.
