Job summary

Education First's EF Academy Oxford seeks a Head of Boarding to lead boarding provision, safeguarding, and student life. You will manage the boarding team, develop the Boarding Development Plan, and coordinate with School staff to ensure a safe, inclusive environment for international students aged 16–19.

You will oversee daily boarding operations, engage in quality compliance, and foster a warm community with varied activities and strong family communication.

Qualifications

• Strong safeguarding knowledge and clear commitment to welfare of young people.
• Proven experience leading and developing people in a boarding/pastoral setting.
• Ability to work with international students and families from diverse cultures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Develop Boarding: provide leadership, manage Boarding Team, develop boarding plans, ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Pastoral Care, Safeguarding and Student Experience: act as DDSL, address safeguarding concerns, support student wellbeing and independence.
• Create a Positive Boarding Community: oversee evening/weekend activities, contribute to student life and community events.
• Oversee Boarding Operations and Front of House: manage day-to-day housing operations, staffing, room allocations, arrivals/departures and safety records.
• Communicate and Contribute Across the School: maintain parent communication, collaborate with admissions, Pathway Managers and other teams.
• Compliance, Health & Safety and Quality: ensure safeguarding, health & safety, risk assessments and policy compliance.
