Job summary

Octopus Energy is seeking a senior data analytics leader to drive insights across the UK and globally. You will lead a high-performance data team and partner with Commercial, Sales, Marketing and Energy Markets to shape pricing, customer insights and strategic decisions.

You will blend hands-on data work with leadership to deliver measurable business impact. Expect engagement with senior leadership and flexible, multi-market collaboration across a dynamic energy business.

Qualifications

• Experience as a manager of a high-performing data team.
• Hands-on expertise with modern data platforms and analytical tools (SQL and Python).
• Strong communication skills to influence non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen, preferably in pricing, margin optimisation, and/or growth analytics.
• A track record of delivering actionable insights that drive measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead UK team: Lead, set priorities, coordinate and review the work of a high-performance team of commercial and marketing data analysts.
• Strategic analytics: Use data to guide our understanding of our customers and our competitors; influence the UK and global strategy.
• Pricing operations: Enable quick price changes while ensuring compliance and good deals for customers.
• Metrics: Define KPIs and dashboards to reveal key drivers like churn and campaign performance.
• Global cooperation: Coordinate data teams supporting Octopus' operations globally.
