Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a Finance Data Manager to drive data-driven decision making across finance, supply chain and operations. You will deliver cleaned, up-to-date financial information and insights to inform strategic choices and enhance competitiveness.

The role focuses on building scalable reporting, leveraging dbt, Python and Databricks, and presenting trends to senior leadership in a fast-paced, purpose-driven energy company.

Qualifications

• Proficient in writing robust, performant SQL queries.
• Experience building robust data pipelines using Python and dbt.
• Experience working within a finance team and with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve and coordinate monthly financial reports for C-suite.
• Create, maintain and optimise reporting for various streams of cost information.
• Use dbt and create semantic layers to inform AI-enabled dashboards, reports, and visualisations.
• Analyse and interpret data to track and improve commercial and operational performance.
• Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to identify opportunities for growth and better service delivery.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and support as required.
