Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited is assisting a college in Essex to recruit a Head of Additional Learning Support (ALS) on a permanent basis. The role leads the ALS department, ensures compliance with educational standards and drives a culture of excellence across a team of dedicated professionals.

Ideally, candidates will have a Supported Learning or SEND background in FE or HE, with proven leadership, collaboration with academic staff, and a strong commitment to inclusive teaching and student success.

Qualifications

• Experience in a leadership role within a Further Education institution.
• Experience working with students with additional learning needs.
• Demonstrated ability to implement effective support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Additional Learning Support department, ensuring adherence to educational standards.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals dedicated to student support.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the learning experience for students requiring additional support.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services and make recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with academic staff to promote inclusive teaching practices.
