Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is recruiting for a Head of Additional Learning Support to lead a specialist education service supporting children and young people with SEND and health needs in Essex. This senior role combines strategic leadership, safeguarding, curriculum knowledge and operational management.

You will work closely with education providers, families, local authorities and partner organisations to ensure high-quality, inclusive provision.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within SEND, SEN, Inclusion, Additional Learning Support or a similar specialist education service.
• A relevant SEN/SEND or specialist qualification.
• QTS / Qualified Teacher Status.
• Strong experience working within an education environment - ideally FE, schools, specialist provision or local authority.
• Experience in a senior management, service leadership or curriculum management position.
• Strong knowledge of SEND, inclusive teaching, curriculum pathways and individual learner needs.
• Experience developing and implementing policies, service plans and improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication, leadership and partnership-working skills.

We are recruiting for a Head of Additional Learning Support to lead and develop a specialist education service supporting children and young people with SEND and health needs.

The ideal candidate will have:
