Job summary

Harvey Mudd College seeks an Assistant Vice President of Advancement Operations and Campaigns to lead the design, integration, and oversight of systems, policies, analytics, and campaign infrastructure for a multi‑year fundraising program. The AVP reports to the Vice President for Advancement and will anchor the advancement enterprise with a focus on data integrity and strategic donor engagement.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with fundraising CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud) and donor reporting.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for donor-centric narratives.
• Proven ability to translate data and institutional successes into compelling fundraising outcomes.
• Experience leading professional staff across data, research, donor relations, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for the Operations and Campaigns division, overseeing approximately 10 professional staff.
• Ensure advancement operations function as an integrated system supporting frontline fundraising and institutional priorities.
• Oversee divisional budget, staffing models, workflows, and technology investments for campaign readiness and scalability.
• Build a data-informed culture with professional development and continuous improvement.
• Lead prospect development, portfolio strategy, analytics, and moves management to maximize fundraising effectiveness.
• Direct the operational planning and execution of Harvey Mudd College’s comprehensive fundraising campaign.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools for senior leadership to monitor progress and goals.
• Collaborate with campus leadership to align campaign goals, messaging, and execution.
• Oversee gift processing, records management, CRM integrity, and donor data security.
