Job summary

Bryn Mawr College seeks an experienced Director of Development who thrives on donor engagement, major gifts, and building a robust fundraising portfolio. This leader will supervise the Grants and Events managers and drive revenue growth through strategic donor strategies and data-driven planning.

The role prioritizes direct donor engagement, portfolio management, and collaboration with the Executive team to meet ambitious financial goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive fundraising experience.
• Proven track record in securing five- and six-figure gifts.
• Experience leading or supporting teams (direct supervision preferred).
• Strong strategic planning, project management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of fundraising best practices, ethics, CRM systems, and metrics.
• Ability to thrive in a relationship-driven environment and spend significant time in external-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of major donors and cultivate prospects.
• Conduct 8–10 donor meetings per month (virtual or in-person).
• Develop individualized donor strategies and multi-step cultivation plans.
• Identify and solicit new prospects capable of giving $10,000–$100,000+.
• Prepare the Director for meetings with major donors as needed.
• Lead annual fundraising strategies to meet a $3.5M+ revenue goal.
• Supervise Grants and Events managers and mentor staff.
• Provide Board and Development Committee leadership and engagement strategies.
