Job summary

Athena Care Homes is seeking a Head Housekeeper for Avocet Court Care Home in Ipswich to lead the housekeeping team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and resident comfort.

The role is 30 hours per week on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday, with a salary of £13.19 per hour, and a fully comprehensive induction plus benefits including 28 days holiday and a Blue Light Card.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position, with proven experience successfully managing a team, budgets and targets.
• A passion for care – we’re looking for a genuinely caring individual who will put the needs of our residents first.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall responsibility for support services within the home for laundry and domestic housekeeping.
• Support the management team in the recruitment, induction and training of the support service team; ensuring training targets are met and team is competent in their roles.
• Manage rotas, budgets, stocks and reporting duties for the Housekeeping department within the home.
• Support, lead, manage and inspire direct reports to deliver outstanding service for the home.
