Job summary

Athena Care Homes is seeking a Housekeeper for Avocet Court Care Home in Ipswich. You will ensure high cleaning standards and a welcoming environment for residents and visitors, reporting to the Head Housekeeper.

The role emphasises caring for residents, with training provided and a supportive team. A rota covers 32.25 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, with a competitive hourly rate and holiday enhancements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is advantageous, but training will be provided.
• A passion for care and placing residents first.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with high attention to detail.

As a Housekeeper at Avocet Court Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of service within the home.

Situated in a residential nook in Ipswich, our 115-bedroom Avocet Court Care Home is surrounded by beautiful gardens. As one of the top residential care homes, we provide exceptional standards of care.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the highest service standards of cleaning are delivered in the home to provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Salary:

£12.71 per hour.

Shift Pattern:

32.25 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure that cleaning duties are carried out in accordance to the cleaning schedule, ensuring the highest standard of personal presentation and hygiene are maintained.
• Ensure all health and safety requirements are being met and that infection control policies and universal precautions are followed at all times.
• To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.

Training, Skills & Experience Required:

• Experience in a similar position is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided.
• A passion for care – we’re looking for a genuinely caring individual who will put the needs of our residents first.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as high attention to detail.
