Job summary

Avocet Court Care Home in Ipswich is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you will follow the cleaning schedule with attention to hygiene and personal presentation, while engaging with residents thoughtfully.

The role offers a competitive salary (£12.71/hour) and a rota-based schedule across Monday to Sunday. Training is provided, with benefits including holiday entitlement and discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar position is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided.
• A passion for care – we’re looking for a genuinely caring individual who will put the needs of our residents first.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that cleaning duties are carried out in accordance to the cleaning schedule, ensuring the highest standard of personal presentation and hygiene are maintained.
• Ensure all health and safety requirements are being met and that infection control policies and universal precautions are followed at all times.
• To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.

As a Housekeeper at Avocet Court Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of service within the home.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the highest service standards of cleaning are delivered in the home to provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Salary:

£12.71 per hour.

Shift Pattern:

32.25 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.
