Job summary

Elizabeth House Residential Home in Poole is seeking a friendly housekeeping assistant to support residents in a clean, welcoming environment. You will manage daily housekeeping and laundry, supervise the team, maintain equipment, stock PPE, and ensure areas are presented to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping in a care home is not required but helpful.
• Ability to work in a caring environment and support residents.

Responsibilities

• Managing the daily delivery of housekeeping and laundry services including supervision of the housekeeping and laundry team.
• Ensuring cleaning, laundry and domestic equipment is maintained according to instructions and safety guidelines.
• All minor faults and repairs are reported promptly and recorded.
• Ensuring rooms for viewing are presented to a high standard.
• Preparing schedules identifying daily, weekly, monthly and cyclical cleaning tasks.
• Ordering stock of cleaning products and PPE and stocking First Aid boxes.

Role: Elizabeth House Residential Home, Poole BH12 4PX

Pay: £13.35 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, to include alternate weekend working

Shift Pattern: 08:30 and 17:00

Come and join our team at Elizabeth House, a 43 bed residential and dementia care home in Poole.

You’ll be able to support our residents in a safe and caring environment where they can live their lives as if in the comfort of their own home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the daily delivery of all housekeeping and laundry services including supervision of the housekeeping and laundry team.
• Ensuring that cleaning, laundry and domestic equipment is maintained by staff in accordance with manufacturing instructions and health & safety guidelines.
• All minor faults and repairs are reported promptly and recorded.
• Ensuring that rooms for viewing are presented to a high standard.
• Preparing schedules which identify and allocate responsibility for daily, weekly, monthly, annual and cyclical cleaning / maintenance tasks.
• Ordering stock of cleaning products and PPE including ensuring all First Aid boxes are appropriately stocked and sited in accessible areas in the event of an emergency.

Who we are looking for:

• Previous experience within a care home setting is not essential - but we want you to come in and enjoy housekeeping!
• A real desire to create a fresh and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy.
• Flexible in the hours that you work and happy to join in as part of a larger housekeeping team.
