Job summary

Care South is seeking a Housekeeper at Wickmeads, our dementia care home in Bournemouth. You will help keep the home spotless and welcoming for residents, assisting with laundry and supporting a friendly team.

Flexible hours between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm are available, with no prior care home experience required. A real desire to create a fresh environment for residents, staff and visitors is essential; Care South is a not-for-profit charity focused on those in our care.

Qualifications

• You must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Keep the home clean, safe and comfortable for residents.
• Assist with cleaning communal areas and residents' rooms.
• Support the laundry team with washing, drying and ironing of residents' clothing.
• Comply with COSHH regulations and use of cleaning products.

Job description

Shift Pattern: Flexible working hours between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, to be agreed with the Home Manager at interview in line with business needs. We have an exciting opportunity for a Housekeeper to join the team at Wickmeads, our stunning purpose built residential and dementia care home situated in Tuckton, Bournemouth. What you will be doing:

• Ensuring our home is kept clean, safe and comfortable throughout for our residents
• Supporting with the cleaning of communal areas and residents own rooms
• Provide some support to the laundry team to include washing, drying and ironing of residents clothing
• Comply with all policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations, with regard to cleaning products and use of chemicals.

Work as a team player to create and maintain a co-operative, friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the home. Previous experience within a care home setting is not essential - but we want you to come in and enjoy housekeeping!

A real desire to create a fresh and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy. Flexible in the hours that you work and happy to join in as part of a larger housekeeping team.
