Job summary

The Willows Care Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire is seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping team and uphold high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the home. You will ensure a safe, welcoming environment and coordinate daily operations in line with infection control and safety procedures.

You will manage, train and support staff, monitor quality and supplies, and work collaboratively with other departments to deliver person-centred care.

About The Willows Care Home

The Willows Care Home is a 31 bed care home located in the market town of Hinckley, Leicestershire. Providing residential and residential dementia care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment where colleagues work together to provide high quality, person centred care. With a strong family atmosphere and a focus on supporting Residents to enjoy meaningful daily experiences, The Willows is a rewarding place to work and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

• Contracted to 32 hours per week
• Flexibility across 7 days is essential for this role
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Head Housekeeper, you will take overall responsibility for the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment is maintained at all times. This is a key leadership role where your standards and attention to detail will directly impact daily life and overall experience.

You will lead and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing the cleaning of residents’ rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas to ensure consistently high standards of hygiene and presentation. You will coordinate daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.

Working closely with other departments, you will ensure a well organised and responsive service. You will monitor quality, manage supplies and support your team through training, guidance and leadership, creating a positive and high performing environment.

• Previous experience in a housekeeping or supervisory role
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Good understanding of cleaning standards, hygiene and infection control
• Ability to manage workload, priorities and team performance
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
