Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Head Chef for Elstree View Care Home in Borehamwood. You will lead a culinary team, deliver nutritionally balanced menus, and ensure high-quality dining within budget.

The role requires a catering qualification and proven ability to manage a team and control costs, supporting residents' well‑being through appetising meals and safe kitchen practices.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience managing a culinary team in care or hospitality.
• Hold a relevant catering qualification - City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.
• Demonstrate passion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary standards to residents.
• Demonstrate an ability to control a budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a culinary team to provide balanced, high-quality meals within budget.
• Prepare modified diets and ensure meals are appealing and on-trend with IDDSI guidance.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers and maintain stock levels within budget.
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure safe systems of work and staff safety.
