Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Head Chef at Spencer House Care Home in Northampton to lead a skilled culinary team in delivering nutritionally balanced meals that meet high standards and stay within budget.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience managing kitchen staff in care or hospitality, hold a catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ), and be adept at budget control. DBS check and UK work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience managing a culinary team in the care or hospitality sectors.
• Catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.
• Ability to manage budgets and deliver high-quality meals.

Responsibilities

• Lead a culinary team to provide nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget.
• Prepare modified diets that look appealing per IDDSI guidance.
• Place and manage food orders with approved suppliers to maintain stock and costs.
• Supervise kitchen staff and the Host team; train unqualified staff.
