Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, dedicated Head Chef for Milton Court Care Home in Milton Keynes to lead a culinary team delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for residents within budget.

Key duties include managing kitchen staff, preparing modified diets per IDDSI guidance, placing orders with approved suppliers, supervising the Host team, and maintaining safe systems of work to protect residents and staff. DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience managing a culinary team in the care or hospitality sectors.
• Hold a relevant catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.
• Demonstrate passion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary standards to residents.

Responsibilities

• Lead a culinary team to provide nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget.
• Prepare modified diets that are appealing and compliant with IDDSI guidance.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers and maintain stock levels within budget.
• Supervise kitchen staff and the Host team, guiding unqualified staff where needed.
• Maintain safe systems of work and assess risks to protect residents and staff.
