Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group in Northampton is seeking a Head Chef to lead a culinary team within Spencer House Care Home. You will deliver nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for residents while managing budgets and supplier relationships.

You will ensure adherence to food safety standards, create appetising menus, and develop the kitchen team through coaching and hands-on leadership in a supportive care environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience managing a culinary team in care or hospitality.
• Hold a relevant catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.
• Demonstrate passion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary standards to residents.
• Demonstrate ability to control a budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a culinary team to deliver balanced, high-quality meals.
• Prepare modified diets per IDDSI guidance.
• Place orders with approved suppliers within budget.
• Ensure food safety and stock control across the kitchen.
