Job summary

North Wales Destination Pub in North Wales is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead a fast-paced kitchen serving high-quality, fresh dishes all day. The role offers an immediate start with a minimum 8-week summer contract and private accommodation.

You will manage day-to-day kitchen operations, develop the team, and create exciting seasonal menus while ensuring top quality, hygiene, and cost efficiency. Weekly pay and self-employed invoicing are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Head Chef in a busy fresh food environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Highly organised with excellent time management.
• Calm under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.
• Passion for seasonal seafood and fresh food specials.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and allergen management.
• Committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and kitchen hygiene.
• A strong focus on health and safety, consistently achieving and maintaining 5-star Scores on the Doors standards.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Leading, motivating, and developing the kitchen team.
• Creating seasonal menus and seafood specials using fresh local produce.
• Maintaining consistently high food quality and presentation.
• Managing stock, ordering, GP, and kitchen costs.
• Organising rotas and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during busy service.
• Working closely with the owners to continue driving the food offering forward.
• Ensuring food is served efficiently throughout all-day service.
