Job summary

Taste Hospitality Recruitment Limited is seeking a talented Head Chef for a beautifully refurbished village pub just outside Carlisle. You will lead day-to-day kitchen operations, craft seasonal menus, and ensure top-tier food quality while managing a friendly, hands-on team.

We are looking for someone passionate about fresh, locally sourced ingredients, who can maintain high hygiene standards and profitability. Staff accommodation is available, and sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
• A passion for fresh, seasonal produce and quality British pub food.
• The creativity and confidence to develop menus and introduce new dishes.

Responsibilities

• Creating and developing appealing, seasonal menus showcasing fresh, quality ingredients.
• Taking full responsibility for the kitchen operation, ensuring consistently excellent food quality and presentation.
• Leading, motivating and developing a passionate kitchen team.
• Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation.
• Managing food costs, stock control, ordering and kitchen profitability.
• Working closely with the management team to develop the food offering and attract customers.
• Bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm to establish the pub as a popular dining destination.
