Barchester is seeking a Head Chef to lead a kitchen team across our homes, delivering nutritious, flavoursome meals and hospitality at high standards.

You will develop menus around residents, supervise food prep, and work with front of house to ensure dining areas meet the required standards while staying within budget. Training through the Barchester Chef Academy supports ongoing skill growth.

Qualifications

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience in leading, motivating and inspiring a team.
• Experience with fresh seasonal food and nutrition.
• Ability to create a warm environment and appetising menus.
• Confidence with front of house and high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and upskill a kitchen team; drive development.
• Develop menus tailored to residents with balanced nutrition.
• Ensure high quality dishes using fresh produce.
• Bake fresh cakes and breads from scratch.
• Assist front of house with dining setup.
• Manage budgets, audits, and stock control.
• Recruit and retain the kitchen and dining teams.
