Job summary

Barchester is seeking a passionate Head Chef to manage a kitchen delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for residents. The role focuses on leadership, menu development, and ensuring a welcoming dining experience.

You will work with fresh seasonal produce, maintain HACCP standards and collaborate with front-of-house teams to create a warm, efficient dining environment across the home.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a kitchen team.
• Experience with fresh seasonal produce and nutrition.
• Knowledge of modified diets (IDDSI) and care settings.
• Experience working with front of house to uphold high restaurant standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor kitchen staff to deliver high standards.
• Develop menus tailored to residents' needs.
• Prepare fresh baked goods from scratch.
• Manage budgets, audits and stock control.
• Recruitment and retention in the kitchen.
• Oversee dining area setup with FOH.
• Ensure meals are nutritious and balanced.
