Job summary

Brunning and Price's The Corn Mill in Llangollen is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. You will drive menu development, manage a fast-paced kitchen, and maintain exceptional quality and presentation across our premium fresh dishes.

You will partner with the pub manager to grow the business, nurture your team, and control stock, GP% and labour. The role offers a competitive package up to £55,000 with profit share and benefits.

As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development, kitchen management, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. We are seeking an individual who shares our love for food, embraces creativity, and has exceptional culinary skills.

The Corm Mill is a beautiful pub, as you walk through the door you are greeted by the water wheel turning slowly behind the bar. The decks outside are built directly over the mill race and the rapids, and on the opposite bank of the river, steam trains arrive and leave from the restored station.

Mountains and hills rise all around Llangollen which is a seriously active place for a small community - in July there is the International Eisteddfod, there are also music festivals, hot air balloon festivals and jazz festivals!

About you...

Our kitchens are dynamic, fast paced, and high volume so you will have experience of being a head chef, chef manager, kitchen manager or senior sous chef in a busy, premium fresh food environment. You will be responsible for the food culture within your pub, working closely with the pub manager to drive the business forward, helping to formulate seasonal menus with our Executive Chefs. We are looking for a confident leader who will nurture their team and create an inclusive and supportive environment. You’ll also need excellent business acumen to manage a well-run kitchen, keeping on top of your stock, GPs and labour controls.
