Job summary

The Corn Mill in Llangollen, part of Brunning and Price, is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. You will drive menu development, oversee kitchen operations, and uphold the highest standards of food quality and presentation in a busy, premium pub setting.

We offer a competitive package up to £55,000 including profit share and tronc, plus extensive wellbeing and staff benefits as part of Brunning and Price. This role is based on site in Llangollen.

Qualifications

• Experience as Head Chef or senior kitchen leadership in a fast-paced, premium fresh food environment.
• Strong menu development and kitchen management capabilities.
• Ability to lead a team and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine menus in collaboration with Executive Chefs.
• Oversee kitchen operations, stock, GP, and labour controls.
• Lead and nurture kitchen team to ensure consistent quality and service.

The Corm Mill is a beautiful pub, as you walk through the door you are greeted by the water wheel turning slowly behind the bar. The decks outside are built directly over the mill race and the rapids, and on the opposite bank of the river, steam trains arrive and leave from the restored station.

Mountains and hills rise all around Llangollen which is a seriously active place for a small community - in July there is the International Eisteddfod, there are also music festivals, hot air balloon festivals and jazz festivals!

About you...

Our kitchens are dynamic, fast paced, and high volume so you will have experience of being a head chef, chef manager, kitchen manager or senior sous chef in a busy, premium fresh food environment. You will be responsible for the food culture within your pub, working closely with the pub manager to drive the business forward, helping to formulate seasonal menus with our Executive Chefs. We are looking for a confident leader who will nurture their team and create an inclusive and supportive environment. You’ll also need excellent business acumen to manage a well-run kitchen, keeping on top of your stock, GPs and labour controls.
