Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Head Chef for Hazlemere Lodge in High Wycombe to lead a professional kitchen and deliver high-quality meals for residents.

You’ll plan menus, manage dietary needs, supervise stock and hygiene, and work 40 hours per week including weekends. The role offers progression, funded training up to QCF level 5, a pension and flexible pay options.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months right to work in the UK.
• Background in kitchens and professional kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of IDDSI framework or dietary requirements desirable.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week including weekends.
• Kitchen experience in a care home setting essential.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning in collaboration with the home manager and residents.
• Understand and meet residents' dietary needs including textures and allergies.
• Kitchen management: day-to-day stock, hygiene, and safety compliance.

What is required from you?

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
• A background within kitchens and understanding of how to run a professional kitchen
• Knowledge of the IDDSI framework or supporting complex dietary requirements is desirable.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week including weekends.
• Kitchen experience in a care home setting is essential

A day in the life of a Cook

• Menu planning - Collaborating with the home manager and our residents' requests and wishes, you will be able to develop and implement menu ideas. Our homes are always having themed days and events where you can showcase your skills and creativity.
• Understanding dietary needs - You will work closely with the wider staff to ensure we are meeting our resident's specific nutritional and dietary needs including modified food textures and allergies.
• Kitchen Management - You will be the main point of contact for the kitchen and responsible for the day to day running of stock management and hygiene standards
