Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Cook for a Derby care home to provide high-quality meals aligned with residents' dietary needs.

Role involves menu planning, kitchen management and collaboration with the home manager. Two 8-hour shifts per week on a rotating schedule, 7:00am–3:00pm, with opportunities for career development and funded training.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work.
• A background within kitchens and understanding of how to run a professional kitchen.
• Knowledge of the IDDSI framework or supporting complex dietary requirements is desirable.
• This role is two 8 hour shifts per week working from 7.00am - 3.00pm on a two week rolling rota as follows: Week 1: Saturday and Sunday; Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning - Collaborating with the home manager and our residents' requests and wishes, you will be able to develop and implement menu ideas.
• Understanding dietary needs - You will work closely with the wider staff to ensure we are meeting our resident's specific nutritional and dietary needs including modified food textures and allergies.
• Kitchen Management - You will be the main point of contact for the kitchen and responsible for the day to day running of stock management and hygiene standards.

A day in the life of a Cook
