Job summary

London SEN School is seeking an experienced HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team from September. You will work directly with children and young people with a range of communication, language, autism and complex SEND needs, helping pupils access education and build greater independence.

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff you will assess, intervene and advise across the school, develop therapy programmes, contribute to EHCP

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Relevant Speech and Language Therapy degree.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Strong SEND knowledge and communication needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism and/or complex needs.
• Excellent assessment, intervention and report-writing skills.
• Child-centered, patient and solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assess pupils' speech, language, communication and interaction needs.
• Develop and deliver individual and group therapy programmes.
• Provide advice and strategies to teaching and support staff.
• Contribute to EHCP assessments, reviews and outcomes.
• Support pupils with expressive/receptive language and social communication needs.
• Work with pupils using AAC, visual communication and other communication approaches.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil progress.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
