Job summary

The London-based SEN school is seeking an experienced HCPC-Registered Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team from September. You will work directly with children and young people with a range of communication, language, autism and complex SEND needs.

You will assess, intervene and advise across the school, developing individual and group therapy plans and contributing to EHCP processes, while embedding AAC and other communication approaches throughout the day.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Relevant SLT degree and experience with children and young people.
• Knowledge of SEND and autism.
• Strong assessment, intervention and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess pupils' speech, language, communication and interaction needs.
• Develop and deliver individual and group therapy programmes.
• Provide advice and strategies to teaching and support staff.
• Contribute to EHCP assessments, reviews and outcomes.
• Support pupils with expressive/receptive language and social communication needs.
• Work with pupils using AAC, visual communication and other communication approaches.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil progress.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary SEND team.
• Support staff to embed communication strategies throughout the school day.
