Job summary

Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital in London is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the Outpatients team. You will support a range of specialties, assist consultants and nurses, and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

The role requires hospital HCA experience, patience, excellent communication, IT literacy, and NVQ Level 3; phlebotomy is preferred but trainable. Flexible shifts across early evenings and Saturdays on rotation.

Qualifications

• Previous HCA experience in a hospital setting.
• Qualified to NVQ level 3.
• Patient, detail-oriented, flexible with excellent communication.
• IT literate and able to learn hospital IT systems.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred but can be taught.

Responsibilities

• Assist colleagues in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Plastics Surgery, ENT, and GP Services.
• Enjoy more time to care for patients as individuals.
• Manage a wide range of activities and changing priorities.
• Make sure day-to-day operations of our clinics run smoothly.
• Assist consultants and nurses with procedures, such as dressings and wound care.

Healthcare Assistant – Outpatients

Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital| London N6 4DJ | Outpatients | Permanent | Full Time| 37.5 hours per week | Department opening hours are Monday – Friday 8am-8.30pm you will work vary shifts within these hours Saturday 8am – 2pm on rotation | Mix of long and short days | Flexibility is key!

As a Healthcare Assistant in Outpatients at our Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital, you’ll have previous HCA experience in a hospital setting, a keen eye for detail and a flexible approach. You will demonstrate patience, focus and excellent communication skills. You will be qualified to NVQ level 3, be a team player,diligent as well as being IT literate with a passion for development. Phlebotomy skill are preferred but can be taught.
