Job summary

Humber Recruitment is seeking a Hatchery Team Leader to support the Hatchery Management Team in daily operations and ensure welfare of day-old chicks while maintaining high quality, hygiene, animal welfare and health and safety standards.

The role requires supervising a small team, coordinating daily production, monitoring hygiene, biosecurity, and stores. It is a full-time position based in the UK, with shift work and transport required.

Qualifications

• Previous hatchery or factory/production experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Technical knowledge, computer skills and basic mathematics advantageous.
• Flexible and hard working with a positive attitude to teamwork.
• Willing to work shifts; own transport required due to location.
• Biosecurity procedures must be adhered to.

Job description

We are seeking a Hatchery Team Leader to assist the Hatchery Management Team in the day-to-day running of the hatchery facility, and to ensure the welfare of day-old chicks whilst maintaining the high standards of quality, hygiene, animal welfare and health and safety that are required.

Responsibilities

• Gain a full understanding of poultry
• Leading a small team
• Assisting with daily production needs
• Hygiene monitoring
• Managing stores and supplies
• Undertake various tasks within the hatchery
• General cleaning and tidiness of all areas inside and outside the hatchery to ensure our high standards of biosecurity are adhered to at all times
• Adhere to all codes of practice and bird welfare
• Adhere to health and safety standards at all times
• Undertake any other duties within the hatchery operation as and when required.

Skills & Experience

• Previous hatchery experience, or factory/production experience
• Supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Technical knowledge, computer skills and basic mathematics are an advantage
• Flexible and hard working
• Enthusiastic and a positive attitude to teamwork
• Ability to work shifts
• Own transportation required due to location

Pay: £13.21 per hour, with additional £1 per hour when working as Team Leader
