Job summary

Promatchconsultancy is seeking an experienced aquaculture professional to join a leading Scottish salmon producer in North West Sutherland as Hatchery Supervisor or Assistant Manager. You will work with the Hatchery Manager to coordinate daily hatchery operations, mentor staff and ensure the highest standards of welfare and husbandry.

Key duties include feeding, grading, health monitoring, records, and site hygiene, with on-call and rotational duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hatchery or similar fish husbandry role.
• Strong understanding of fish welfare and husbandry practices.
• Ability to support, motivate and develop team members.
• Good organisational skills and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Feeding, grading, moving and vaccinating stock.
• Monitoring fish health and welfare.
• Maintaining records and site hygiene standards.
• Coordinating daily workloads alongside the Hatchery Manager.
• Supporting, mentoring and training colleagues.
• Ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are met.
• Participating in on-call and rotational duties
