Job summary

ProMatch Consultancy Limited is supporting a leading Scottish salmon producer in North West Sutherland to recruit a Hatchery Supervisor or Assistant Manager. You will work closely with the Hatchery Manager to oversee daily hatchery operations, coordinate workloads, train staff and uphold fish welfare and husbandry standards.

The role offers hands-on leadership with a chance to progress into management while staying actively involved in hatchery activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hatchery or similar fish husbandry role.
• Strong understanding of fish welfare and husbandry practices.
• Ability to support, motivate and develop team members.

Responsibilities

• Feeding, grading, moving and vaccinating stock.
• Monitoring fish health and welfare.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced aquaculture professional to join a leading, independent Scottish salmon producer in North West Sutherland as a Hatchery Supervisor or Assistant Manager.

Working closely with the Hatchery Manager, you'll take a leading role in daily hatchery operations, helping coordinate workloads, support and train team members and ensure the highest standards of fish welfare and husbandry.

Key Responsibilities

• Feeding, grading, moving and vaccinating stock
• Monitoring fish health and welfare
• Maintaining records and site hygiene standards
• Coordinating daily workloads alongside the Hatchery Manager
• Supporting, mentoring and training colleagues
• Ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are met

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a hatchery or similar fish husbandry role
• Strong understanding of fish welfare and husbandry practices
• Ability to support, motivate and develop team members
• Good organisational skills and a proactive approach
• Full driving licence and own transport (essential)

Salary & Benefits

• Salary negotiable depending on experience
• Overtime rates of x1.5 Mon to Fri and x1.75 Sat and Sun
• On-call payments
