YT Tech is recruiting on behalf of a leading, innovation-driven technology company developing advanced electronic systems for defence and communication applications.

We're looking for an experienced Principal Hardware Systems Engineer to take technical ownership of complex projects from concept and design through to manufacture and support.

This is a hands‑on engineering leadership role offering the chance to work on next‑generation technology in a fast‑paced, collaborative R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead system‑level design and development across hardware, electronics, and RF disciplines
• Act as the technical authority and main point of contact for assigned products and projects
• Oversee design reviews, system validation, and configuration control
• Manage and mentor multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
• Drive product improvement, manufacturability, and reliability initiatives
• Support bids, proposals, and supplier coordination activities

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong engineering background (electronics, RF, or hardware systems)
• Proven track record leading design from concept to production
• Broad experience across hardware, embedded, and system architectures
• Ability to analyse system trade‑offs and solve complex technical challenges
• Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills
• Familiarity with formal systems engineering processes (requirements through to validation)

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Aras Innovator or Altium Designer
• Knowledge of RF and electronic test equipment
• Python or SysML experience
• Previous involvement in large, complex technical bids
