Pickering Interfaces Ltd in Clacton-on-Sea is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to lead the design and validation of digital and analogue hardware for high‑performance switching and simulation products.

You will create schematics and PCB layouts in Altium, select components, run tests, and work with mechanical and software teams to ensure reliable hardware across the product lifecycle.

Formación

• Experience in schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout, including high-speed or power-sensitive designs.
• Hands-on with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers).
• Understanding of power supplies, signal integrity and noise mitigation.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary teams with cross-functional collaboration.

This is a technically skilled engineer with a strong background in electronic hardware design, proven project leadership capabilities, and a passion for driving product development from concept through to completion. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*** Work with Product Management to define product / design specifications* Lead in the design and development of digital and analogue hardware products* Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using Altium designer* Perform component selection and analysis to ensure optimal performance* Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and final products* Conduct hardware debugging and validation using test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).* Collaborate with the mechanical and software teams to ensure effective hardware/software integration.* Manage and lead product development projects from concept through to production.* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including, software, mechanical, test, NPI and manufacturing to ensure efficient delivery of projects* Create and maintain detailed technical documentation* Support cross functional product documentation creation* Support products through full product lifecycle.
