Job summary

Abbatt Group in Woolwich is seeking a Day Porter for a residential development of around 70 apartments. The role blends traditional porter duties with concierge tasks, including refuse management, upkeep and resident assistance. Hours: Mon, Wed, Fri 08:00–17:00; Tue/Thu 09:00–18:00; salary £30,700 per annum.

You will be the on-site point of contact for residents, help with deliveries, perform light cleaning, and support routine inspections and contractor access.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Porter, Caretaker, Estate Operative or hands-on Concierge.
• Physically fit and comfortable with regular manual tasks including moving heavy refuse bins.
• Proactive, hardworking attitude with willingness to manage building operations.
• Reliable, punctual and organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicating with residents, contractors and property management teams.

Responsibilities

• Porter duties & refuse management: move heavy bins, present for collection and maintain bin storage.
• Building inspections & maintenance: daily inspections, report defects, coordinate contractor access.
• Resident services & front of house: act as main contact for residents and manage parcels/deliveries.
• General admin: assist with records and resident communications.
