Job summary

Zest Food Jobs is helping a well-established food manufacturer in Northamptonshire recruit a Production Shift Manager to lead a busy shift on the factory floor. You’ll drive daily performance, coach Team Leaders and Operatives, and ensure production, quality, waste, cost and safety targets are met.

You’ll be hands-on and visible on the shop floor, using data to identify improvements, run daily huddles, collaborate with Planning, Engineering and Quality, and foster a culture of continuous

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Production Supervisor or similar within manufacturing.
• Experience working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and quality systems.
• A proven ability to lead, develop and motivate teams.
• A naturally inquisitive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead, developing and motivating Team Leaders and Operatives across your shift.
• Ensure production schedules are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Drive performance against production, waste, cost and quality targets.
• Maintain a strong culture of health & safety across the department.
• Monitor line performance and challenge underperformance where required.
• Run daily team huddles and ensure shift communication is accurate and effective.
• Work closely with Engineering to address downtime, reliability and equipment performance.
• Identify training and development requirements across your team.
