Headstar in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function within a growing, project-based business. The role requires someone who can bring structure, accountability and control, and who is comfortable getting into the detail and backlog.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day operations, review balance sheets and P&L, and drive process improvements across the finance function, including potential transition of work back in-house

Competenze

• Strong experience with P&L, balance sheet and management accounts.
• Excellent understanding of the full finance process.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and transactional finance.
• Experience in a project-based, contracting or construction environment.
• Understanding of WIP, cost of sales and project accounting.
• Strong process improvement skills.
• Hands-on, proactive approach.

• Take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation and improve how the function operates.
• Identify priorities and clear backlog in accounts.
• Establish processes, responsibilities and deadlines for the team.
• Own management accounts and transactional finance.
• Review P&L and balance sheet performance.
• Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee payments allocations and accounts payable.
• Drive greater structure and accountability within the team.
• Review outsourcing arrangements and bring work in-house where possible.
• Act as the link between finance and wider operations.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement practical improvements.
• Ensure financial tasks are completed accurately and on time.
